Why manual selection instead of automatic face detection?
Two reasons. Detection models miss faces (angles, occlusion, children) β a missed face in a privacy tool is a serious failure. And running detection means processing biometrics; drawing a box yourself is both more reliable and more private.
Is the blur reversible?
At strength 25+, the pixel information in the region is destroyed beyond practical recovery. For absolute certainty on sensitive material, use maximum strength β or crop the region out entirely.
Can I blur more than one face?
Currently one region per pass β run the output through the tool again for additional regions. Multi-region selection is on the roadmap.
Does it work for text like license plates and addresses?
Yes β the blur doesn't care what's in the box. Plates, house numbers, screens, and documents all anonymize the same way.
