JPG, PNG, WebP · Max 10 MB

Cameras record orientation in metadata that half the apps in the world ignore, so photos arrive sideways. This tool first applies the EXIF orientation properly, then rotates by the angle you choose — producing a file that is upright everywhere, not just in apps that read metadata.

How to use Rotate Image

  1. 1Drop your image into the box above.
  2. 2Choose the rotation: 90° clockwise, 180°, 90° counter-clockwise, or 45°.
  3. 3Click Rotate Image.
  4. 4Download the corrected file.

Features

  • EXIF normalization

Orientation metadata is baked in first, so results are consistent everywhere.

  • Right-angle presets

The three rotations that fix 99% of sideways photos.

  • Arbitrary angles

45° rotation with transparent corners for creative use.

  • Lossless dimensions

    Right-angle rotations re-encode without scaling.

Why use this tool

  • Upright everywhere

Fixed pixels beat metadata that apps ignore.

  • Print-safe

Printers see the corrected orientation, not the sideways original.

  • Two-tap fix on mobile

    Upload, pick the angle, done.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my photo look upright on my phone but sideways elsewhere?

Your phone reads the EXIF orientation tag; many apps and sites don't. This tool physically rotates the pixels so orientation stops depending on the viewer.

What happens to the corners on a 45° rotation?

The canvas grows to fit the rotated image and the corners become transparent, so the output is a PNG.

Does rotating lose quality?

Right-angle rotations re-encode once at high quality — visually lossless for practical purposes. PNGs are perfectly lossless.

Can I rotate by a custom angle like 13°?

The preset list covers the common cases; arbitrary-angle input is on the roadmap. The 45° option shows how angled output with transparency works.

Your files stay private

Rotation happens in memory and the file is discarded after download. EXIF data — including GPS location — is stripped during re-encoding rather than passed along.
