Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the recognition?
On sharp, well-lit images of printed text, accuracy is typically excellent. Blur, skew, low contrast, and small fonts reduce it β expect to proofread the output rather than trust it blindly.
Does it read handwriting?
No β Tesseract is built for printed text. Handwriting recognition needs different models and is out of scope.
Which languages are supported?
English recognition is enabled currently. Additional language packs are on the roadmap.
Why did my conversion take longer than usual?
The OCR engine initializes on first use after idle periods, which can add startup seconds. Subsequent conversions are faster.
Your files stay private
Your image is OCR'd in our server's memory and discarded with the recognized text as soon as the document downloads. No third-party vision API sees it, and nothing is retained.
