JPG, PNG Β· Max 10 MB Β· solid backgrounds

Product photos on white, logos on flat color, scans on paper β€” for images like these you don't need an AI service that uploads your picture to someone's GPU cloud. This tool samples the corner colors and flood-fills the connected background region to transparency, entirely on our server with classical image processing, and returns a transparent PNG.

How to use Remove Background

  1. 1Drop an image with a reasonably solid background into the box above.
  2. 2Leave tolerance at 30 to start β€” raise it if background remnants remain, lower it if the subject gets eaten.
  3. 3Click Remove Background.
  4. 4Download the transparent PNG.

Features

  • Deterministic flood-fill

Corner colors seed an edge-connected fill β€” the same image always gives the same cutout.

  • Adjustable tolerance

One dial controls how aggressively near-background colors are removed.

  • Transparent PNG output

Drop the result straight onto any design or background.

  • Interior details protected

Only regions connected to the edges are removed β€” a white shirt inside the subject stays.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on busy photo backgrounds?

No β€” and we'd rather tell you than pretend. The flood-fill approach removes solid or near-solid backgrounds (product shots, logos, scans, documents). Complex scenes like a portrait in a park need AI segmentation, which this tool deliberately avoids.

What does the tolerance setting do?

It sets how different a pixel can be from the corner colors and still count as background. Raise it for backgrounds with shadows or gradients; lower it if parts of your subject are disappearing.

Why did a hole appear inside my subject?

If the subject touches the image edge and shares a color with the background, the fill can leak in. Adding a little margin around the subject before uploading fixes it.

Is the output really transparent?

Yes β€” removed regions have zero alpha in the PNG, ready to composite anywhere.

Your files stay private

Everything happens in our server's memory with classical pixel operations β€” your image is never forwarded to an AI provider, stored, or used for training anything. It is gone when the download starts.
