A PDF you received but need to change is one of the most common office headaches. This tool extracts the text and paragraph structure and writes it back out as a .docx file β€” the same format Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages, and LibreOffice all edit natively.

How to use PDF to Word

  1. 1Drop the PDF into the box above.
  2. 2Wait a moment while the text and layout are extracted.
  3. 3The resulting .docx downloads automatically.
  4. 4Open it in Word, Google Docs, or Pages and start editing.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on a scanned PDF?

Only if the scan has already been run through OCR. This tool extracts text that already exists in the PDF β€” it does not perform OCR on image-only pages.

Are images and tables preserved?

Text and paragraph structure convert cleanly. Complex tables and embedded images may need a touch-up in Word, since PDF layout does not map perfectly to .docx.

What about formatting like bold and italics?

Basic character formatting is preserved when the source PDF encodes it. Heavily-styled PDFs come across in a simpler form you can style back up quickly.

Is the output compatible with Google Docs?

Yes β€” .docx opens natively in Google Docs, Word, Pages, and LibreOffice Writer with no conversion step.

Your files stay private

The PDF contents live only long enough to build the .docx and are then dropped. We do not index the text, do not store copies, and do not share anything with third parties. Conversion metadata (file size, tool used) is retained only for logged-in users.
